Tork dispensers and cool surfer dudes

Thomas Meyerhoffer is one cool guy. He’s the famous designer behind the trendy Apple eMate, has designed for Porsche and Nike and he’s currently developing his own line of unique surfboards. Oh, and did we mention he is the designer behind the new range of Tork Elevation dispensers…?

So imagine AFH Account Manager (QLD) Ross Ferguson’s surprise when, while “hanging ten” (well, kind of…) at a surfing event recently he ran into Thomas!  We asked Ross to recount…

“I was invited to the Board Culture Surf Shop on the Gold Coast for a meet and greet with some of the legends of surfing including Bob McTavish and Steve Walden.  To my surprise, also on the tour was Thomas Meyerhoffer!  Thomas was there to promote his brand new, innovative range of surfboards.

I approached Thomas, introduced myself, told him I worked for SCA, specifically Tork, and said how well his new dispensers were going.  He was so excited!  Never one to let an opportunity pass me by; I was quick to grab a couple of Elevation dispensers from my car to get an autograph.  Thomas was “stoked” and even showed Bob Mctavish his proud achievements!  

“We had a great chat and I asked what he was currently working on and how he got into shaping a totally radical style of surfboard (it may take awhile for the die hards to try his boards). Thomas is a really nice guy - he signed the dispensers and the photo says it all, they now hold pride of place on our Queensland showroom display board!

In January 2009Tork launched the new range of Elevation dispensers designed by Thomas Meyerhoffer - the challenge was to design a product that delivered excellent functionality with aesthetic appeal to people all round the world.  To date, the new dispensers are proving very popular.
